Re: Winter Kiting
I'm pretty sure you won't be finding anyone on the water until about April. There me be one or two brave souls that venture out once or twice before then but for the most part it won't happen. However, there are a few people with the ocean rodeo drysuits around. They look like they come in pretty handy at the beginning and end of the season.
Snow Kite
Get some skis or a snow board and find a big field. When the lakes are frozen safely - some of them get great wind. First snow kite session of this year for me was Sunday Jan 9. Most interesting thing to report - wet snow caused different issues, I needed to borrow some cross country ski wax to deal with sticky snow for the downhill skis. A glide wax for above 1 celsuis resolved all issues.

Hey John, which lake were you on? Is the ice ready around Halifax?

not ice
Private farmer's field. Got permission from the owner. Need to work on the relationship before other guests can be invited. I am watching the ice thickness. Lakes are not ready yet. jb
